1. Overview
LivBright helps you make better food choices by scanning packaged foods and showing personalized nutrition insights.
I respect your privacy and collect only the minimum information needed to deliver these features. This policy explains what I collect, how it’s used, stored, and how you can control or delete it.
2. Information I Collect
a) Device & App Information
- An anonymous User ID used to distinguish users within the app.
- Basic technical data: OS version, app version, crash logs, performance metrics.
- No personal sign-in (no email, phone, or social login).
b) Family Profiles
You can create profiles for yourself or family members containing:
- Name (first name or nickname)
- Age or age range
- Gender
- Height and weight
- Pre-existing conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, PCOS, heart health)
These details are stored locally on your device and used only to compute personalized nutrition insights.
c) Food Scan Data
- Barcodes, product names, ingredients, and nutrition facts collected when you scan items.
- Used to calculate scores and suggest healthier alternatives.
- Anonymous, aggregated data may be retained to improve recognition accuracy and recommendations.
d) Analytics & Diagnostics
Privacy-friendly diagnostics (for example, crash and performance logs) may be used to fix bugs and improve stability. These logs do not include profile or health details.
3. How I Use the Information
- To generate personalized nutrition scores and tips
- To maintain, debug, and improve app performance
- To analyze anonymous usage trends that help improve algorithms
No data is sold or used for advertising or marketing.
4. Storage & Retention
- Local first: Profiles, preferences, and scans are stored on your device.
- Cloud (if enabled later): Any backups will be encrypted and minimized.
- Anonymous or aggregated data may be kept to improve app functionality.
- You can delete all data at any time (see “Your Choices” below and the Data Deletion Policy).
5. Sharing of Information
I do not share identifiable information with third parties. Data may be shared only when:
- Using service providers strictly for analytics or error logging under privacy agreements, or
- Required by law or regulatory authorities.
All shared data is anonymized and limited to technical necessity.
6. Your Choices & Controls
- Edit or delete profiles anytime inside the app.
- Erase all local data: open Profile → Erase All Data and confirm.
- Request server-side deletion: email vishakh@livbright.life with subject “Data Deletion Request” and include your User ID (shown at the bottom of Profile). Requests are completed within 30 days and confirmed once done.

7. Children’s Privacy
Parents or guardians may add child profiles to personalize insights. LivBright does not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13 (or the local minimum age).
8. Security
All communications use HTTPS. Local data is protected by your device’s built-in security. While no system is perfectly secure, I update safeguards regularly to reduce risk.
9. International Transfers
If any third-party tools process data outside your country, they must provide appropriate safeguards consistent with India’s DPDP Act 2023 and international privacy principles such as GDPR.
10. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The latest version will always be available in-app and on the official LivBright website. Significant updates will be communicated within the app.
